Raven-haired beauty Jessica MacDermott believes that Ireland is bursting with talent and creativity. She is wearing a dress designed by Denise Long and made from the exciting new consignment of Chinese silks which has arrived at Roisin Cross Silks at Crofton Rd, Dun Laoghaire.
The 22-year-old Jessica, who is a makeup artist with Brown Sugar, South William Street, Dublin, and has the ambition to make a breakthrough on the international scene, says: “There is a great renaissance in dress-making here.” Judith O’Sullivan, owner of Roisin Cross agrees. “There is definitely a silk lining in the clouds of recession,” she says.
