Here we see silk used in a corporate environment to great effect and functionality. The ribbed silk taffeta was chosen to complement the décor already existing in this function room. This silk was also chosen because it is quite a strong pattern on a soft fabric. That balance of strong and soft work very well in this environment where there is a very mixed use of the room, and also where there are men and women gathering. Their tastes will not be offended, but rather satisfied with this choice of silk. The extra lively and rich quality of this particular silk affords this function room a very grand and elegant atmosphere. The colour of this silk is strong too, but neutral enough to please.
The silk, lining and interlinings are all treated to comply with Fire regulations for commercial use. This treatment does not discolour or distort the silk in any way. The interlining layer, between the silk and the lining, gives the silk opulence and weight, even acting as a sound and thermal barrier.
The silk curtains hang from stylish but discreet poles. These poles are extremely strong and durable. They can hold very heavy weight curtains, and offer a pulley system. This window ‘treatment’ was designed to give maximum function with minimum fuss. This is achieved by fitting a separate pole to each door, and two separate poles to the long window. Each pole is fitted with a pulley system that closes and opens the curtain hung from it with ease. This gives the freedom to have each of four curtains closed or open independently. The pulley systems also gives ease of operation, and prevents any handling of the silk.
