Ann Harold Biog

Ann Harold joined the team at Roisin Cross Silks to present curtain making courses in July 2010. Prior to this Ann worked with KA international, a Spanish company specializing in high quality curtain fabrics and furniture which has 400 across the world including two in Ireland, as their most senior curtain maker. Ann has also worked as a senior sales assistant for KA.

Prior to her career with KA, Ann taught night classes in interior furnishing in St. Killian’s School in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Griffith College Dublin 2 and Cabinteely Community College and ran her own business called A&P Interiors. A&P Interiors specialised in quality hand finished silk curtains, Roman blinds, pelmets, head boards and specially commissioned soft furnishings. Ann’s clients ranged from the suburban house wife to owners of high end penthouse apartments in Dublin and in far flung cities like Hong Kong, Switzerland and New York. Her unique work has been featured in Image Interiors and the White Book amongst other prominent interiors magazines.

Anne looks forward to meeting Roisin Cross Silks (RCS) customers and instructing them on the joy of curtain making. As part of her two day courses at RCS, Ann will introduce her students to the many variations of silk, the challenges of choosing an appropriate fabric in line with a pre-determined budget, choosing a style to suit a window, measuring and cutting, pattern making, joining hems and sides, lining and inter-lining, curtain headings and putting the different components together including the finished drop and width hand sewing and finishing off.
