About Us

Judith O’Sullivan purchased Roisin Cross Silks, a thriving business that was then 28 years old in late 2006. She has known Roisin Cross for many years and had assisted with the silk shop as far back as the mid to late 1980’s.

Following the purchase, Judith moved the business to Dun Laoghaire overlooking Dublin Bay. The silk shop was re-launched with a new and extended direction.

In 2017, the magnificent Edwardian building where Roisin Cross Silks resided for 12 years was sold and the business was relocated to Deansgrange

This move was significant and allowed for the opportunity to extend the services of design and making with facilities that could accommodate several fitting rooms in addition to a magnificent showroom.

The contemporary open plan premises included a dedicated area for bridal fabrics lace and trimmings.

This proved to be a very successful location for a 5 year period, during which time we expanded our design and dressmaking services.

In 2022 our business took a new direction and we relocated to a new premises in Stepaside Village.

The essentials of the business of importing and selling silks has not changed.

We still source our silk fabrics from the same suppliers in the Far East. We supplemented our collection with the addition of  Italian wool crepes, lace and beadings.

This ensures the quality and resilience that has maintained the Company’s reputation of excellence and integrity for forty years. Roisin Cross (often referred to as ‘THE’ Roisin) often pops in to the showroom and shares the many anecdotes that go back as far as 1978.

The Sunday Independent described the type of personal service received and attention to detail offered to that of ‘The House of Elliott’.

Roisin Cross Silks created a second website called ‘Irish Bridal Couture’ in 2017, specializing in Bridal wear only. It was created to fulfill the ever-growing needs of brides that embrace in the research of everything bridal. It was a natural evolution, as the core of bridal design and making is a combination of the finest silks with the talent of the bridal advisers and makers.
